Rubber properties

JRB Rubber compounds are designed for long life in marine environments. All fenders are made using high quality natural and/or synthetic rubber compounds, formulated for high performance and reliability. 

Rubber compounds include additives to resist the effects of ozone and ultra-violet light. The vulcanisation process (temperature, pressure and time) is strictly controlled to ensure a homogenous product with excellent physical properties and rubber to metal bond strengths.

Tested properties are verified for each batch of parent material and certification to EN 10204:3.1 is provided * Grade 0: no cracks {pass}. Grade 1:<10pinpricksunder 0.5mm lonq {pass}. Grade2and above is fail. 
+Additional properties can betested and/or third party witnessed on request at extra cost.

UHMW-PE Facings

JRB recommend Virgin grade UHMW-PE as the best material for consistent Low-friction, hard wearing facings on high performance fenders,available as either Virgin 1st {premium} or Virgin FQ {fender quality} .

The high quality of JRB 's Virgin UHMW-PE low friction facings means they last longer and reduce shear forces more than any alternative material {including double sintered, regenerated and blended grades}.

Black is available for all grades.Yellow and blue are popular Virgin 1st colours- others include green, white, orange, grey and red.

Fixing types

JRB's pioneering sealed, watertight boss fixing method secures facings to the underlying structure more reliably than troublesome, old-fashioned stud fixings. Boss fixings greatly increase wear allowance,prolonging the service life of UHMW-PE facings.

Panel protection moves to another level with new, low profile fixings. The broader fixing creates much larger compressive, tensile and bearing areas and has a smooth upper surface to protect vessels and panels. The central socket makes installation fast and simple.

Values are indicative and are relative except for wear allowance.'Please ask about other,less common thickness values. JRB PE fixings are available in galvanised or stainless 316 finishes.

Curved Facings

JRB's curved UHMW-PE facing are the first of their kind. The unique profile smooths vessel transitions across the face of the panel and around corners, and of fers greater side impact protection than traditional sharp corners. A300mm outside radiusis standard, but curved facings can be designed to match any project specification, and made in any od our regular colours.
